"Paradise City" is a song written by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. Released in 1987 on their debut studio album Appetite for Destruction and was released as a single in 1988. It is most known for its iconic lyrics "Take me down to the paradise city/Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty". It is also frequently played at sports stadiums during games along with "Welcome to the Jungle", also from Appetite for Destruction.

She actually did a pretty good job. By about the 3-minute mark you can see how she's nearly wiped out. lol Just goes to show you Rock n Roll ain't easy. Just think....Axles been banging out these hits for almost 30-years. In any case, I'm glad she didn't try to "customize" the song like so many other so called artists who just end up ruining it by trying to put their own "spin" on it. Sing it the way it was meant to be sung....and she did. Well done Ms Underwood.

She can sing, but she missed it in a few spots, by being behind the music. It's very difficult song to sing, and it goes to show you how talented Axl was. And it's "the" paradise city, not "a".

Mr Rose isn't dead just his career. With that being said, good cover & very unexpected. However nothing in the rock/metal world says you "killed it" then writing & performing your own real shit. Just a sayin.

You just have to love drummers when they are allowed to play outside of their normal course as this gentleman did. The drummer was having the best time - would have made Adler proud. Miranda did the song proper. Better than what Axl could probably do now.

The most popular part of ANY country show I've ever seen over the last 40 years is when they break out the rock n roll.Rock wouldn't exist without southern gospel, country, blues and jazz, but everyone wants to rock on some level.

I LOVE how far she has come. I remember when she was on AI. I rooted for Bo Bice all the way, because although she had a beautiful voice, she was so stiff, robotic and clearly uncomfortable on a live stage. She rocks the s**t out of it now, and is so drop dead beautiful.

+ihatekillerclowns Preforming is not about chugging beers and smoking like a chimney.... Axl is out of breath after running 50 yards on the stage... When one runs out of breath, his or her singing preformence gets very close to Justin Bieber's... Again... Axl is and never was live material... And probably never will be.... And I wasn't judging from a technical point of view, but from a personal point of view... I have no idea how to breathe/warm up/etc. when singing. And the fact that she already has been forgotten is a little normal, no....? She a popsinger, not a rock legend, but that doesn't mean she can't sing... Axl was a pioneer in his style of music, that's what made him a legend, along with the amazing guitarpicking from Slash... not the fact that he can (what you call) sing live...

yes, performing isn't about chugging beers, but just try'n to add some perspective here - drinking/drug taking was a HUGE part of the rock culture scene, and that's a credit to Axl and the band that they could even perform/function on some nights. Performance is all about entertaining, singing with authenticity, engaging the crowd (his running, stage theatrics), having stage presence etc The only time I recall him being out of breath were at the VMA's 2002 and on tour in Brazil back in 08? Just look at Mick Jagger performing with Axl in the late 80's, Mick tried to keep the same pace with Axl, but couldn't, with his vocals being weak. Should we denigrate Mick's live performing/singing now? Watch Axl's live performance with Tom Petty singing Free Fallin, now look at Tom's face midway through the song when Axl displays his singing chops at the chorus...Tom knows he is out of his league, and with a wry smile, drops out halfway through the note. Granted the second half of Axl's career hasn't been on the same level, but Axl has been rated as having the highest range of any singer, and that has an affect on your singing as you age. Watch him in Paris 92' performing on the illusion tour running like a maniac, he was never out of breath or off key. Yikes, he gave one of the greatest live performances again in 1992 at Freddy Mercury's tribute (i.e Knocking On Heavan's Door, Paradise City). Besides, it was his singing which got the band noticed on the L.A club scene prior to them making it big with Appetiite. PS: And I didn't say Carrie couldn't sing, but there's nothing setting her apart from all the other cookie cutter pop singers - and I said it was unfair to compare a polished pop singer with a completely different style of singer in AXL Rose. Her rendition of Paradise was as I expected, a pop singer desperately trying to rock out, but having no idea how to.

Ok first things first...she ain't Guns N' Roses. That aside she did an amazingly good job with this song. I have a lot of respect for her that she did the whole song, while most artists only sing the chorus once or twice and call it a cover. The only thing that could have made this better was to invite Slash to play. While Axel had the signature voice, Slash's guitar is what made GNR. The guy on guitar in her band did a piss poor job.
