I know this family and he is a very nice husband, father and friend. He wears a carbide wedding ring and that broke the glass. This is the material that they use to make glass breakers for cars. He feels horrible for what happened in front of the girls but he felt that some one had to stand up for the whole team that was taking a physical illegal in this league beating. That is his daughter on the ground and yes she was wrong for kicking with her skates and she is fully aware of it. But what you all don't see is how the other girl had been hitting them all in the back the whole game and the refs never called her for it. You also don't see clearly the girl that knocked her down kick her with her skates and hit her with her stick. Just remember you are only seeing a clip of the game.

People, it's tempered glass. If the energy is directed in a very concentrated area, it will shatter like this. A hockey puck or body part can't deliver energy to the glass in this manner. A ring "could" do it, and yes it does matter where you strike it even in that scenario. I worked as a time keeper for years in highschool , so I have seen many pieces of glass shatter. I also still play to this day ... Inexperienced refs that are too young to be reffing? First...The only way that this glass would break like that way is if he had something sharp in his hand. You can see that by the way he hit the glass in a downward motion. Second.. the way he starts yelling immediately after the glass breaks he was not surprised that it did break. This was intentional. He should have been removed charged and banned from the bullding. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior .
